Payment & Fees
Mud Lotus & Fire is a private-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged in advance.

Session Fees
Initial Individual Intake Session (60 minutes): $150
Recurring Individual Therapy Session (50 minutes): $135
Initial Couples Intake Session (60 minutes): $175
Recurring Couples Therapy Session (50 minutes): $150
Insurance & Superbills
At this time, Mud Lotus & Fire Psychotherapy, PLLC does not bill or file claims with insurance companies, and we are not currently able to provide superbills for reimbursement.
We understand that navigating the cost of therapy can be difficult, and we are continuing to work toward expanding our options for clients who may wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement in the future. Any changes to our superbill or insurance policies will be communicated as those options become available.
For now, clients are responsible for the full session fee at the time of service.
However, Tyler reserves a limited number of reduced-fee appointments for clients experiencing financial constraints. Reduced rates typically range from $100–$130 depending on circumstances and availability.
Other Fees
Cancellation Fee
We reserve your appointment time exclusively for you. To allow us to offer the time to another client, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or if you do not show up, a $135 late cancellation/no-show fee will be charged. Medical emergencies or unavoidable circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
NSF/Charge Back Fee
If your payment check is returned as Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF), or your credit card company reverses your payment, you will be charged a $35 fee to cover our costs.
Medical Records Request
This $50 fee is charged for compiling and sending your medical records to a third-party.
Documentation Fee
The fee for completing forms on your behalf (e.g., FMLA, disability, hospitals, insurance, etc.) is $150 per hour, with a 30-minute minimum. This fee compensates your therapist for the time invested in reviewing, completing, and submitting these documents.
Court Testimony and Appearance Fees
Please note that Mud Lotus & Fire Psychotherapy PLLC DOES NOT perform court evaluations nor voluntarily appear in court on behalf of individuals, children, or families. In the event that it is legally required by court order/subpoena to participate in any legal proceedings, a $2,520 retainer fee will be charged to cover required services, which are billed at $315 per hour:
Preparation and submission of records
Consultations with other professionals involved in the case
Travel time to/from court-related activities
Any other court-related services provided
Good Faith Estimate
Starting January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of your therapy services. This estimate gives you an idea of what to expect based on your needs, the reason for therapy, and any relevant details. It’s designed to help you feel informed and prepared. Please note that the estimate is based on the information available at the time and may change if additional services are needed.
